SWAP NOW 2011 - 2014 EU Project

SWAP NOW 2011 - 2014

Great news!  We have been successful in a bid to be part of this exciting project.  SWAP NOW, Smart Ways in the Approach of Prevention using New communication strategies On Waste, is essentially a communication project.  It aims to make use of new and innovative communication methods and media to help residents prevent waste. West Sussex County Council is one of the four European partners delivering action and initiatives over the three year period.  In return for funding from the European Union we will be sharing examples of our best practice projects with our European Partners. IOK Waste Management from the north of Belgium for example is keen to learn about our award winning WPA scheme.  In return we hope to learn how they achieved their enviable 70% recycling rate!  Exciting and challenging at the same time we are looking forward to working with all the partners.  Look out for the logo (above) and we will keep you posted in forthcoming newsletters.
